Piano Lid Facelift

Severely damaged piano lid brought back to new after veneer repairs and refinishing

This 90 year old piano lid was damaged by spillage from a vase of flowers. Because of its age the surface was particularly vulnerable so with the subsequent lifting of the veneer, and along with the large stain area, the piano lid became a glaring eyesore as opposed to a well-weathered but beautiful piece of 1930s furniture.

Once we repaired the veneer and carried out a re-polish of the lid, the old walnut veneer came back to a smart and infinitely more durable finish.

The old piano will provide a few more decades of sing-along now, and the singers can put their glasses of wine on it without any fear of causing damage.
